It takes many people to make things happen in the church. We have a variety of opportunities for you to use your gifts and talents. We would love to have you serve with us!

▾ Coffee Center

GRIF Grounds – Help start Sunday morning by serving a fresh cup of coffee in the foyer. You will serve on regularly assigned Sundays. It is a great way to meet people!

▾ Communications Team

Photography – It’s been said, a picture is worth a thousand words. Do you enjoying capturing special moments? Join the team and take photos at GRIF events. Most of the time it’s a simple as bringing your own camera and taking pictures at an event you already planned to attend.

Video – If you have experience in video production, videography, sound recording, lighting, or are tech savvy and would like to learn, please consider joining our team. Our video team makes videos of all kinds for GRIF, including testimony clips, event highlights, sermon illustrations, and dramatic productions.

Writing – The writing team exists to bring glory to God through the written word. The writing team welcomes all kinds of writers and is open to all genres of writing. This is a place not only for playwrights, poets and fiction writers, but also for journalists, technical writers, songwriters, and anyone with a passion and knack for stringing words together.

▾ Congregational Care

Meal Ministry – Providing meals for individuals and families recovering from illness, surgery, a hospital stay or have experienced a death in the family or just brought home a new baby. This is a great way to bless a family in a time of need.

Homebound Visitation – Reaching out to those individuals who want to stay in touch with their church family, but find it difficult or are unable to leave their residence.

Funeral Meals – Preparing a meal for grieving families following the funeral offers families an additional opportunity to receive comfort and care in their time of loss. The meals are prepared in the church kitchen by a team of volunteers.

Hospital Visitation Team – A ministry that seeks to extend love and care to those who are hospitalized.

▾ English Language Learners

English Language Learners Classes – Offering hospitality to refugees in our community through offering friendship and helping them learn the English language. No special teaching skill required, only need to be able to speak English! Wednesdays 6:30-7:45p.

Skills and Craft Class – Friendship, crafting and sewing class offered to refugee women every Tuesday afternoon. It is fun!

▾ Facilities and Grounds

Fixer Uppers – There is always something to repair, adjust or install. An ongoing list is provided, work as a team or work alone, it’s all helpful!

Grounds – Trim shrubs, keep fence and property lines clean or attend to the flowers – it all makes for well-kept grounds.

▾ First Impressions

Greeters – Being present at the main entrances before and after the Sunday service, connecting people to GRIF with a warm smile and handshake and directing visitors to the information center, children’s area or restrooms.

Ushers – Greet those entering the sanctuary, hand out bulletins, collect the offering and respond to needs throughout the service.

Information Desk Attendant – Be available prior to and after the service to answer questions about GRIF.

▾ GRIF Kids

Nursery – Our nursery care providers are on a rotation schedule of parents and other volunteers willing to rock and play with babies and toddlers.

Sunday Morning Sonshine Island and Base Camp – We have age-level programs based on large-group and small group teaching and worship. Large group teachers provide the lesson through story and interactive teaching. Small group leaders interact with a designated group of children for life application conversations and activities. All materials provided.

Wednesday Night Kid’s World – There are many opportunities to interact with children through teaching, music, crafts and countless other fun activities.

Check In Desk – Do you have the gift to greet and make people feel welcome? We love having friendly faces at our children’s check in desk.

Vacation Bible School – A once a year event that provides plenty of places to serve. Leading or helping with crafts, worship, storytelling, small groups, decorating, food and much, much more. There is something for everyone!

Events – GRIF Kids offers great family events throughout the year; fishing, pancake breakfast, Sunday Sundae, sleepovers, and so much more. Join the team to plan these fun events.

Men – Facilitate small group Men’s Bible study discussions or lead a group.

Prayer Team – Plan and participate in special prayer events including a 24/7 Week of Prayer.

Wednesday Nights – Help on Wednesday nights with middle and high school students. Hang out and build relationships. About 2 hours a week and occasional connections outside of weekly programs.

Sunday Nights – Connect with students and help them understand the importance of following Jesus.

Prayer Partner – Be a part of the Prayer Team for our students.

Bible Study – Facilitate small group Women’s Bible study discussions or lead a group.

▾ Worship Arts Ministries

Vocalists – The worship vocalist’s primary function is to provide vocal harmony with the worship leader and other worship vocalists. They also model worship for the congregation by maintaining an attitude of worship while singing with the team. Their focus is on God, not on performing.

Acoustic Guitarists – To provide rhythmic support as needed by the worship leader.

Electric Guitarists – To provide rhythmic support and sonic textures as needed by the worship leader. To play specific parts (lead lines) for songs as needed.

Bass Guitarists – To provide bass content and rhythmic support as needed by the worship leader. To play specific parts for songs as needed.

Drummers – To provide solid rhythmic foundation for the worship team.

Keyboardists – To provide sonic textures and keyboard parts for the worship team.

Other Instruments (horns, strings, reeds…) – At this time there is not a plan for incorporating these types of instruments on a weekly base, but we do aim to include varying instruments at least once a month. If you have skill playing these instruments we would like to know!
